"Most permanent hearing loss conditions that exist today are not medically treatable, and in fact, many are preventable. Yet, modern societies increasing amount of noise pollution is creating a rapid increase in permanent hearing loss conditions, especially among children", reports Dr. Vogelson. "Currently, hearing impairment affects 10% of the US population. One out of every three adults over age 65 has significant hearing loss, and it can have a negative impact on a person's quality of life. Current amplification devices do a much better job of providing help for people with hearing impairment than they did only a few years ago. This is made possible because of significant improvement in microprocessor-based amplification".
Dr. Vogelson sees patients on a self referral basis or by referral from primary care providers.
A twenty nine year native of Charles City, Dr.Vogelson holds office hours on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday mornings. The office is open Monday through Wednesday as well for messages and et cetera.
