FCMC Nurse Earns New Credential

Floyd County Medical Center is pleased to announce that Chelsea J. Wendel, BSN, RN has achieved an NCC national credential in Electronic Fetal Monitoring. The credential is earned by meeting educational and/or practice requirements and taking a rigorous national examination that covers the specified specialty areas.

Chelsea joins the almost 196,000 health care professionals that have earned the prestigious NCC credential since 1975. Maintenance of the credential is required every three years and involves earning on-going continuing education in the specialty.

Chelsea has been part of the FCMC family for 17 years. She is a valued member of the Medical Center and currently a full-time Nursing Supervisor. She works regularly in the Birth Center, Emergency Department, and on the Medical Surgical Unit. Chelsea is a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), as well as an instructor for basic and intermediate fetal monitoring.
